The Macro Competition

Last night was the first main competition of the season - the ‘make things look big’ or the Macro/Close up competition for the technically minded.

It was both PDI’s and Print and with 28 digital entries and 21 print entries, we had a superb turn out with some of the newer members throwing their hat into the ring for the first time which was great to see.

The conclave met, the members voted and after the scores were duly adjudicated by the Chair the results were as follows……

Ice Crystals in the Morning by Mark Adams (@darkphotographic) came first

‘Old Figs’ by Wayne Daniels came second

‘The Alien Life form Finally Reveals Itself’ by Simon Smith came third

Then we had the print round…….

‘Yellow Brain Fungus’ by Pauline Pearce came a resounding first. Superb details.

‘Hornet Mimic Hoverfly’ by Mick Sadler came second.

‘Chain Reaction’ by Danny Pearce came third.
